Different challenges. One shared ambition.
As a global retail leader operating across the US, Europe and Indonesia, Ahold Delhaize depends on strong relationships—both internally and externally. Each department faces its own challenges. Marketing teams need to communicate ideas that inspire action. Procurement teams need to negotiate the best outcomes while maintaining long-term partnerships.
Despite these different objectives, they all shared one goal: help employees influence more effectively and create greater value for customers. Achieving that consistently across a global organisation required more than individual skills. It required a shared approach.
A tailored programme with a common language of influence
The Influence Company designed the Influential Business Partnering Program (IBPP), a three-day programme fully tailored to Ahold Delhaize’s business environment. The programme focused on self-awareness, behavioural flexibility, and building a shared language of influence.
Participants learned how to adapt their communication style to different situations and stakeholders while working on their own business cases. The programme is delivered both within individual departments and across cross-functional teams, creating a consistent approach to collaboration throughout the organisation.
“Great content and structure of the training. Really focused on practical rather than sitting and looking at slides and theories.” (Ahold Delhaize participant)
Stronger influence. Better partnerships. Faster results.
After completing the programme, participants know how to influence effectively—regardless of their role or level within the organisation. Collaboration with business partners becomes more effective, relationships grow stronger, and teams find better solutions together.
“The trainer was amazing, reads people very well and quickly. He was able to make sure the content was engaging and impactful while still keeping things fun and entertaining.” (Ahold Delhaize participant)
Proven impact
Since 2018, 271 employees have completed the programme.
More than eight years later, the programme is still running successfully.
