Privacy Statement

The Influence Company takes your privacy seriously. We process a lot of personal data and treat it with care. This means that we:

  • clearly set out our purposes before we process your personal data, through this privacy statement;
  • seek explicit consent for the processing of your personal data, should consent be required;
  • take necessary security measures to protect your personal data;
  • respect your rights, such as the right to access, correct or delete your personal data processed with us.

This Privacy Statement tells you how we handle your data, your privacy and your rights. The Influence Company complies with the guidelines of the General Data Protection Regulation.

This Privacy Statement applies to all entities within the Zuidema Group, including Bureau Zuidema bv, Bureau Zuidema Learning Solutions bv and The Influence Company. We reserve the right to amend the Privacy Statement. Our advice is therefore to read it regularly.

Purposes of data processing

By using our services or visiting our website www.influencecompany.com, we obtain various types of personal data from you. For each purpose, please read below which data we obtain from you, for what purpose we process this data and how long data are stored.

  1. Contact The Influence Company

There are several ways to contact us. You can do this by phone, but also via e-mail, via the contact form or via our chat. On our website, you can also request a brochure or other publication from us. 

For this purpose, we process the following personal data:

  • first name and surname
  • phone number (optional)
  • e-mail address
  • Company name (optional)
  • possible content of correspondence

We use this data to properly handle your contact request and to fulfil the agreement with you. Your data will not be published or given to third parties.

We keep this data for the duration of the agreement and as long as there is no explicit request to delete the personal data.

  1. Registration for Open Training and for In-company Training

You can enrol for one of our open training programmes via our website or via one of the training portals we are working with.

The registration for our In-company trainings is processed based on a participant list.

For this purpose, we process the following personal data:

  • first name and surname
  • gender
  • company name (optional if you pay for the training yourself)
  • (business) phone number
  • (business) e-mail address
  • Address (only for training taking place abroad)
  • job title (optional)
  • date of birth
  • (business) invoice details
  • (business) payment details
  • purchase number/reference number for invoicing
  • any content of correspondence
  • any dietary requirements

We need this data to prepare the training material, to send practical information and a certificate of participation, to invoice and to take care of the entire arrangement (and – if needed – overnight stay).

Are you following a training in The Netherlands? Then your first and last name and your dietary requirements (if applicable) will be provided to third parties (location where the training takes place and trainer providing the training).

Are you attending a training abroad? In that case, your name, address, e-mail and phone number will be shared with third parties (the location where the training takes place, the trainer providing the training, and the travel agency arranging the flight tickets). This information will only be used for booking flights and accommodation and for organizational purposes.

We keep this data for the duration of the agreement (until the training is completed and payment has been done) and as long as there is an active customer relationship. Some data is kept for a longer period if we are required to do so (for example, due to the 10-year tax retention period). 

  1. TIC EMEA HUB®

 If you have enrolled for a training at The Influence Company, you will be given access to the TIC EMEA HUB®. The following data are collected in the TIC EMEA HUB®:

  • first name and surname
  • e-mail address
  • phone number
  • date of birth (optional)
  • company name (optional)
  • job title (optional)
  • years of work experience (optional)
  • address (optional)
  • gender (optional)
  • LinkedIn (optional)
  • Intake and test results (Influence Style Inventory and Influence Style Questionnaire)
  • programme evaluations

Participants can choose whether to show their e-mail address and/or phone number to group members.

We use this data with the following purposes:

  • compiling usage statistics. This allows us to optimise the functioning of the website and systems, with the data being anonymised as much as possible;
  • for research purposes, with the data being anonymised as much as possible;
  • offering and delivering our products and services in a personalized way;
  • handling requests and maintaining contact with you;
  • testing and improving our products and services

Data can be anonymized at the request of the participant.

  1. Webinar

The Influence Company also organises webinars. You can register for these webinars through our website.

For this purpose, we process the following personal data:

  • first name and surname
  • Gender
  • (business) e-mail address
  • (business) phone number

We keep this data for the duration of the agreement (until the webinar is completed) and as long as there is no explicit request to delete the personal data.

  1. Newsletter

You can subscribe to our newsletter through our website. In this newsletter, we inform you every month by e-mail about news and developments in the field of behaviour and keep you up to date on The Influence Company’s trainings.

For this purpose, we process the following personal data:

  • first name and surname
  • e-mail address

We use this data based on your consent. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Each newsletter contains an unsubscribe link. Once you unsubscribe, we keep your data on our blocklist, so you will no longer receive mailings from The Influence Company.

Photos and videos

If you register for one of our trainings, you agree that photo and video material will be taken where you can be identified. We keep these images in our archive and we publish a selection of these photos and videos on social media, in print copies and on our websites. The images are used for promotional purposes and will only be used by The Influence Company. During our training programmes, recordings (if needed) will only be used for training purposes and will not be stored in our archive.

Security of your data

The protection of your personal data is important to both of us. We take appropriate security measures to limit misuse of (and unauthorised access to) your personal data. We therefore ensure that only the strictly necessary persons have access to your data, that access to your data is protected and that our security measures are checked regularly.

We take the following security measures, among others:

  • logical access control on our laptops and systems, using passwords and 2 authentication;
  • use of firewalls;
  • agreements with our IT suppliers about information security;
  • data storage within the EU.

As much as possible we work digitally (no paper but secure digital documents). 

Which rights do you have?

You can submit a request to:

  • access: you have the right to access the personal data we process about you;
  • rectification: you have the right to correct or complete the personal data we process about you if they are incorrect or incomplete;
  • restriction: in some cases, you can request to restrict the processing of your personal data, which means we will process less data about you. You can do this by emailing us at customerservice@influencecompany.com or calling us on office days at +31 (33) 434 58 00;
  • deletion: you have the right to anonymise the personal data we process about you. You can do this by emailing us at customerservice@influencecompany.com or calling us on office days at +31 (33) 434 58 00.

You can also inform us that your personal data should not be used for marketing activities or revoke your previously given consent.

Applying for a job at The Influence Company

Have you applied for one of our vacancies? If so, we will process your personal data in order to process your application.

For this purpose, we process the following personal data:

  • name and address details;
  • e-mail address;
  • phone number;
  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • cover letter;
  • any other information you enclose with your application.

We use this data in preparation for (potentially) concluding an employment agreement. Should you not be employed by The Influence Company at the end of the application procedure, we will store the application data for a maximum of 4 weeks after the procedure has ended.

Have you sent an open application? If we cannot offer you a position at the moment, we may keep your application data for a maximum of one year. You can access, amend or delete your personal data at any time. To do so, please send an e-mail to customerservice@influencecompany.com or call us on +31 (33) 434 58 00.

Data processing agreement

We work together with a few external companies for the technical support and hosting of our websites and ICT environment. In doing so, these companies sometimes have access to personal data for which we are the responsible party. We have therefore signed data processing agreements with them. These include a prohibition on providing data to third parties.

Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small information files that can be automatically stored on or read from the website visitor’s device when visiting a website. This is done via the web browser on the device.

We use cookies to: 

  • enable functionalities of the website;
  • analyse the use of the website and, on that basis, make the website more user-friendly;
  • be able to show personalised ads.

 These cookies collect the following data from you:

  • IP address
  • cookie ID
  • application and click behaviour
  • referrer URL

When you visit our website for the first time, we will display a message explaining cookies. Here, in case we are required to do so, we will ask for your consent to the use of cookies.

To optimise our site, we currently use Google Analytics, Hot Jar and Act-on. These require cookies. We use these services to gain insight into how visitors use the website. This information helps us improve the website and better tailor our information for the visitors. We also use cookies for measuring and optimising media engagement, such as cookies from Bing, Google, Facebook and LinkedIn.

On our website, we use social media buttons, which direct you to the social media platforms. The buttons work because of codes coming from the social media networks. If you want to know what the social media platforms do with your personal data, please read their privacy statement.
